Winners of two prestigious photographic competitions announced

For anyone with an interest in nature and landscape photography, the past week has been significant with the announcement of winners for two of the world's' more prestigious prizes.

On Tuesday amateur Canadian photographer Don Gutoski took out the 2015 Wildlife Photographer of the Year prize, announced at London's Natural History Museum. His winning shot of two warring foxes (below) was selected from over 42,000 entries submitted from around the world.

Meanwhile, yesterday the winning entries were announced for the 2015 Epson International Pano Awards. Have a look through the finalists' galleries, which feature some incredible imagery of both natural and man-made/built environments.

Revamped website!

As you'll have noticed, the website has undergone a rather significant facelift during recent weeks. Photographing inequality

As world leaders converge on New York this week to sign off on the new post-2015 development agenda, The Guardian has published a series of ten photographers who have united to share their perspectives on equality: http://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2015/sep/24/photograph-inequality-sustainable-development-goals-poverty-climate-change-action2015. The collection includes some thought-provoking imagery.

Reducing inequality will be a key theme of the UN's newly adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Nick Brandt is returning to Stockholm

For anyone familiar with Nick Brandt's work, he will be returning to exhibit at Stockholm's Fotografiska as part of the gallery's Jubilee Programme from May 22. As part of the exhibition, Nick is giving a public talk about his photographs and work at midday on Saturday May 23. Get along if you can!

Australian photographer Daniel Berehulak wins the Pulitzer prize in feature photography

This year's Pulitzer prize in feature photography has been awarded to accomplished Australian photographer Daniel Berehulak for his work covering the human tragedy of the West African Ebola crisis.
